Got questions? We’ve got your answers:

The Aloha Friday fireworks in Waikiki take place every Friday night, typically starting around 7:45 PM from October through March, and 8:00 PM from April through September. Boat / sailing cruises typically check in and set sail earlier, be sure to check with your activities provider so you don’t miss your departure time!

If you are watching from the beach, it depends on the fireworks:

  • Aloha Friday Fireworks: Duke Kahanamoku beach, right in front of the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
  • NYE Fireworks: The spectacular midnight display is viewed easily from any point along the Waikiki shoreline, with the fireworks launching from an offshore barge.
  • Nagaoka Fireworks: It varies, but typically if you are close to the Sheraton Hotel whether on the beach or have a view of the ocean from your hotel, you should be able to see them as they launch from a barge a mile or two off shore from the hotel.

The best vantage point for Waikiki fireworks is from the water. Watching from a sailing catamaran gives you unobstructed 360-degree views with no crowds, no traffic, and no blocked sightlines — just open ocean and fireworks overhead.
